Day 2

Faith is a funny thing.  It runs on a different course than reason.  You can’t logic it out.  You can’t figure it out.  It just is, or is not, there.

It can go against the odds.  It can go against the grain.  And it can go against what you have been taught.

It just is what it is.

And in this moment I am putting my faith in the belief  that the idiot pointing a pistol at my face won’t realize that the safety is on before I can teach him the error of his ways.

I’m a believer.  And, in a moment, I will inculcate him in how to bow before my faith.

Day 1

The most important thing I have ever learned I learned from horses.

There are only three things that you ever have to work with in life.

1) Where you are

2) Where you want to go

3) What is the next step.

The past is only helpful in that it tells you what has worked and what hasn’t.  The future is some great unknown.  All you have is right here, right now.

And you all can ever do is take that next step.

Once you take that step all kinds of things can happen.  You might get what you expect and it takes you down the path you want to.  Or you might not get what you expect.  Then you have to decide.  Is where you wanted to go the wrong idea?   Did you need to go someplace else.  Or do you have to change the step.

But either way, you are right back there again.  With only three things at your disposal.

Where you want to go can change.  Even as you make progress, your horizons change.  And suddenly where you wanted to go doesn’t seem right, or the best anymore.  So you decide to go someplace else.  Even then, you are right back where you were.  :)

If you find that you are stuck in life.  That you don’t know what to do.  Just step.  Just step off into the unknown.  It will all change, and it will all be the same.  But something will have happened.  And that is way better than just standing still.
